And, now, we’re in February. The snow storm from 2021 last year repeated itself again this year. Not as cold; but just as sloppy and tough on travel and work. Work has been hectic; as it has been a long month or so; working is taking precedence over everything right now as we get ready for Spring. Yes, SPRING!!!!

I was able to get the benchwork lowered and ready for the first level of the layout going. I am likewise going ahead with the new layout plans…but love this layout so much that I have to build it. I have commissioned custom Code 70 turnouts to be built for the plan and will have them in a little while; but I have enough to keep me busy for a bit right now anyway. I am going to start laying track at the beginning of March; as the majority of the benchwork and rolling stock moving has been accomplished.

Looking forward to Spring weather; to say the least. My health continues to improve; and I am going to get serious again about my weight. Work has taken over everything else to this point. So, I am getting some time today and tomorrow to get a few things completed and sorted. Spring cleaning will commence once more; as I will thin out buildings this time. So, stay tuned.

I am a Southern Illinois Native. I am a fan of nostalgia, and the history of Southern Illinois. Model Railroading has been a large part of my life; and it helps serve that interest. Through this interest I have learned much about the region; the people; and the industries that gave us all hope of building a life beyond our formal education. Small Towns in the Midwest built this nation...and this site aims to share that fact with the world.
