The Year 2021 is almost in the books. Here we are in the second week of December with 64 degree temperatures. Who would have guessed that? Of course, there are those of us who have suffered tremendous loss in the wake of the deadly tornado outbreak last weekend. We are grateful here in Centralia to have dodged the proverbial bullet.
Work is very busy again, and that’s the reason for the late blog entry. This is the first time I have been at my computer in my train room in 3 weeks. Not much has happened other than cleaning out the rolling stock and getting a few more ExactRail hoppers in that were on sale.
GP15-1s will be the main stay of the fleet; after much consideration. I have four GP38-2’s to build for train 408. I will add a Kato GP28 Kit bash. Looking forward to Christmas and New Years here at the house. 2022 will bring much changes around here. Can’t wait, personally.
Not much really going on other than building a few models and the massive cleanout as stated earlier. I have a few more items that will go on FleeBay this week. But, for the most part; we’re done cleaning out. I acquired an undecorated Walthers SW1 to use for Freeman Coal Number 4’s mine switcher. I have began planning new decals for hopper repaints that I will begin in the new year.
I attended the Great Train Expo in Collinsville the weekend after Thanksgiving. Not a good turnout. This pandemic has really beaten a few things into the ground. I hope it improves in 2022.
See you all next year.
